Pre-Sales Engineer

About Us:

Join our dynamic team at Aquila Clouds, a leader in AI and Cloud management solutions, where innovation meets excellence. We are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer to evangelize our cutting-edge products to customers’, ensure seamless transitions from proof-of-concept (POC) to production, drive post sales requirements working with product and engineering teams.

Role and Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Support:

  • Evangelize, and demo products to our customers. Understand customer use cases and connect them with the product capabilities.
  • Create tailored presentations for customers to establish value and ROI for them
  • Act as the first-level support to address/debug customer issues and channel new requests.
  • Serve as a bridge between customers and engineering, translating customer requirements into precise technical specifications.
  • Manage the end-to-end customer journey, from POC to production, ensuring smooth onboarding and deployment.
  • Configure cloud environments (e.g., AWS ARNs, Azure Projects) for onboarding processes.
  • Maintain strong communication and negotiation skills to handle customer inquiries, rejections, and feedback with expertise and tact.

Technical Expertise:

  • Understand and configure cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, VMware, and KVM.
  • Familiarity with modern workloads like Kubernetes, Databricks, Snowflake, and Linux.
  • Install software, manage cloud-based integrations, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Track customer requests and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver on committed timelines.

Project Management:

  • Drive projects with a focus on timelines and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to translate customer conversations into actionable product requirements.
  • Contribute to defining a robust post-sales support process for customers.

Sales Enablement:

  • Pitch the value of our products to enterprise customers effectively, ensuring succinct and impactful communication.
  • Build and maintain relationships with enterprise customers, leveraging existing connections where applicable.
  • Travel to customer locations and spend 15 days a month in Pune as required.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Certifications: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI (Mandatory).
  • Proven FinOps experience on competitive products (e.g., CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, Spot, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, Databricks, Snowflake, and modern workloads.
  • Coding skills (e.g., scripting, automation) are highly preferred.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate customer objections and deliver expert-level advice.
  • Proficiency in tracking requests and collaborating across teams to deliver solutions.
  • Flexibility to work across time zones to support global customers.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in enterprise sales or pre-sales roles.
  • Existing relationships with enterprise customers.
  • Leadership potential with a vision to grow into roles like SE Leader or Field CTO.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work model with travel to Pune for 15 days per month.
  • Flexibility for customer site visits and global support as needed.
